The college admissions process has never been louder, faster, or more confusing. Rankings shift, requirements change, and families are often left wondering whom—or what—to trust.
If you are looking for calm, experienced, and thoughtful guidance grounded in decades of real admissions work, I invite you to consider working with me.
I am an independent college counselor with more than 30 years of experience helping students of all academic profiles find colleges where they will thrive, not simply gain admission. My approach is intentionally personal, highly individualized, and rooted in professional judgment—not algorithms, formulas, or one-size-fits-all lists.
I work best with families who value clarity over noise and fit over prestige. Together, we focus on questions that actually matter:
- Is this college appropriate for this student’s academic readiness and learning style?
- Will the student feel supported—academically, socially, and emotionally?
- Is the cost sustainable and sensible for the family?
- Does this path position the student well for long-term success, not just a short-term outcome?
Much of my work involves helping students and families slow down, recalibrate expectations when necessary, and make informed, confident decisions. This is especially important for students with learning differences, students who are bright but not yet sophisticated navigators of the process, and families who feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice.
Just as important as strategy is communication. I pride myself on being honest without being discouraging, firm without being cold, and professional without losing warmth. Families trust me not only because of what I know, but because I care deeply about outcomes—and about the students themselves.
In a time when college admissions counseling is increasingly automated and transactional, my work remains relational and intentional. I stay involved. I follow results. I help families navigate deferrals, waitlists, scholarships, and honors opportunities. I remain invested long after applications are submitted.
I am currently accepting a limited number of new clients for upcoming classes, including students entering the critical sophomore and junior-year planning phases. If you are seeking guidance that is steady, seasoned, and genuinely student-centered, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
Complimentary 30-minute introductory consultations are available.
College admissions do not have to feel frantic or uncertain. With the right guidance, the process can be thoughtful, manageable, and ultimately affirming.
