Hourly Consultation Service

KCC is available for hourly consultation services to provide information and advice about the college search and application process.

Customized Service Blocks

Purchase a pre-paid four-hour block of time to be used for any college service that you need (except for list development). The choice is yours! Possibilities include:

• Mock Interview
• Activities résumé editing
• Essay Brainstorming
• Essay Editing
• Application review
• Academic/testing advice

(Since payment for this option is non-refundable, it is the responsibility of the family to make arrangements for the time to be used. In some cases, such as editing, this will be non-meeting time.)

Early College Planning I - September to June of Freshman Year

• Review of academic record
• Advice on course selection
• Recommendations on extracurricular involvement and summer activities
• Testing recommendations
• Discussion about how to make high school a successful endeavor

Early College Planning II - July of Sophomore Year to December of Junior Year

Includes all services in Early College Planning I -PLUS-

• Administration of learning styles and study skills assessment

The List - January of Junior Year to October of Senior Year

• Review of prior academic accomplishments
• Advice on course selection
• Recommendations for extracurricular involvement
• Testing (SAT or ACT, SAT II, when to schedule, is prep necessary, etc.)
• In-depth interview on college preferences of both student and parent
• Career planning by administering career assessment and personality inventory
• Refinement of choices of college type and major using interest survey(s)
• Advice on making successful college visits
• Preparation of a selected list of colleges that is uniquely suited to the student

Comprehensive Package

Includes all services in The List Package PLUS:

• Action Plan with organizational timeline
• Binder with resources for use as an organizational tool
• Essay Brainstorming session, as needed
• Editing of both common application essays
• Editing of the activities résumé
• Editing of up to three supplemental essays
• Review of applications
• Recommendations for college interviews
• Help with making final choice when decision letters are received
