Klaar College Consulting offers business coaching to educational consultants who are relatively new to the field or who have reached a point in their careers where they need advice on how to take their business to the next level.

Charlotte Klaar, Ph.D., knows what it's like to be a "newbie." She launched College Consulting Services, based in MetroWest Massachusetts, in 1995. Over the next few years, she successfully built her business, educating her community on the need for and the benefits of using an independent educational consultant in their search for the right college fit for their children. She eventually sold that business, relocated, and launched Klaar College Consulting, now serving families in the Baltimore, Washington and northern Virginia areas (and nationwide through Skype).

Charlotte has taught courses on the business aspects of the industry for the Independent Educational Consultants Association, and at UCLA and UC Irvine. She now serves two client groups: college-bound students, and aspiring or fellow educational consultants.

* Our Business Consultation clients must have completed one of the following basic training programs:

• IECA Summer Training Institute
• IECA Transitioning to Private Practice Workshop, or
• UC Irvine Certificate in Independent Educational Consulting

Business Consultant Services can be tailored to your specific needs and typically include:

• Phone consultations on questions regarding client services delivery
• Affordable on-site service in the continental U.S.* to assist with:
  • Forms development
  • Fee setting
  • Workshop organizing
  • Process development
• Assistance with client meetings
• List development assistance
• Other assistance as requested

* Charlotte will be happy to travel to areas outside the DC area for on-site services and will bill accordingly. Her goal is to make this service affordable, as part of a new business's normal start-up costs.
